Do not let the present moment slip away.
Our mind is always busy thinking. As human beings we spend a lot of time
thinking about what isn’t going on around us, contemplating experiences that
happened in the past, or what might happen in the future, or what might
never happen at all. This thinking is the cause of a lot of unhappiness that we
experience.
Many studies and philosophical and religious traditions show us that happiness
is to be found by living in the moment and to resist overthinking and to ‘be
here now’. These studies and traditions suggest that an overthinking mind is an
unhappy mind. Therefore we need to stop dwelling in the past or get anxious
about the future but live in the moment.
All you really need to do is accept this moment fully. You are then at ease in

the here and now and at ease with yourself.
Tip to stay in the moment:
- Give yourself little reminders. Use sticky notes or make reminders on your phone to remind you to come back to the present.
